ADVICE FROM A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL WHO MANAGED ONE OF THE LARGEST HOSPITALS IN THE WORLD
Pre-hospital patient care contact is a vital part of patient survival....
The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, was built as an Imperial Military Hospital in 1942. As the largest hospital in Africa, and the 7th largest in the world, it proudly serves around 350 patients daily and 592,000 outpatients annually.
It was a privilege to serve as the Chief Superintendent of this majestic hospital for 26 years, from 1979-2005. The hospital, since the beginning, and still in current time, boasts with up-to-date medical technology, and is served by some of the best doctors around the world, including some from the United States. My support for small business initiatives like MULTIMED, as a facilitator and trainer of Basic Life Support- and First Aid Responder skills, stems from my first-hand experience and management of amongst other forms of medical services, the pre-hospital setting care.
What would you do in the event of a neighbor slipping and becoming unconscious? What would you do if a co-worker falls off a latter and a serious fracture is visible? What will you do if a colleague or friend suddenly presents with chest pain and then becomes unresponsive? If you are not trained, you will not know what to do! As employers it is your responsibility to equip your staff with the necessary skills to assist during such incidents, until professionals arrive on the scene.
As an EMT-Basic, are you ready to respond without hesitation and use the equipment at your disposal in the correct manner, fast and efficiently?
As individuals, you can add incredible value to your workplace, your friends, and your community by becoming proficient in Basic First Aid and Life Support Skills.
Basics Saves Lives.
Be safe, be prepared,
